The Grand Hyatt Vail consistently receives high praise for its exceptional staff, creating a genuinely welcoming and memorable experience for guests. Guests frequently highlight the friendly service across various departments and the stunning mountain setting, though some have noted maintenance concerns and occasional service inconsistencies. Overall, it's a popular choice for ski trips and mountain getaways.
We absolutely love this hotel! We stay each year for a ski week, and it’s always a great experience! The location, Makoto (Sushi Restaurant), the private chair lift, the ski valet are all amazing! But what really makes this property top notch is its people! Special thanks to Kelly and Team in the ski valet, Ellen at the front desk (always so helpful), and Diego in the kitchen making the best omelettes!
This was a one star review turned four star due to the excellent customer service from Irina, the front desk manager. We had an extremely unfortunate and wildly unprofessional experience with an overnight front desk associate last night - I won't go into detail as I believe the hotel is dedicated to ensuring this will not happen again to future guests'. That being said, Irina was very quick to reach out to us the following day and truly went above and beyond to resolve the situation and redeem Hyatt's reputation for us. Outside of the situation with the overnight staff member, the stay was great. The room was clean, bed was comfy and we enjoyed the live music with great views and the shuttle to Vail Village.
Stayed at the Grand Hyatt for 3 nights with my spouse for my birthday weekend. I booked through AMEX FHR and the benefits were great. Some of the furniture in the room had lots of wear and tear and could use a touch up but besides that, we had a great stay! The property was well taken care of and had a really great layout. All of the staff that we encountered from the front desk receptionist, valet/bag assistance, bar, house keepers, and even ski valet were all amazing and extremely friendly. We will definitely be coming back and will recommend to friends and family!
We’ve stayed at the Grand Hyatt Vail three times now, and every visit just confirms it: this is our favorite hotel in the entire Hyatt network. There’s something so special about this place—the stunning mountain setting, the cozy yet luxurious vibe, and those incredible views—but what keeps pulling us back is the people. The staff here are simply wonderful. From the moment you arrive, everyone—from the valets to the front desk to housekeeping—greets you with genuine warmth and remembers little details from previous stays. It always feels like coming home. What really stands out, though, is the team across the restaurants and bars. At Gessner, the servers are attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The breakfast crew is just as great, keeping things smooth even when it’s busy, and the folks at Gore Creek Market are quick and kind when you’re grabbing something casual. It’s rare to find a hotel where the service feels this consistent and heartfelt across the board. The staff truly make the Grand Hyatt Vail feel like more than just a resort—they make it feel personal. We’re already looking forward to trip number four. If you’re heading to Vail, stay here. You won’t want to stay anywhere else.
Wonderful stay for two nights for an industry event. There was fresh snowfall which made the setting a winter wonderland. The coffee machine was well stocked and I loved the shower pressure and bathroom design. The event spaces are exceptional and the staff was super helpful. Their banquet captain was on his A game with checking table placements before seating. The view from the hot tub and treadmill to the river is great and I look forward to staying here again. I am SO glad they extended the group code rate and let me lock in a solid retreat. Bravo.
I’m currently staying at the Grand Hyatt Vail, and I was thoroughly impressed by the level of service from the moment I arrived. Check-in was handled by Wendy, who was absolutely amazing. She greeted me with genuine warmth, made me feel immediately welcomed, and ensured the process was smooth and effortless. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail set the tone for a wonderful stay. The property itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and offers a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere. However, it was Wendy’s exceptional service that truly stood out and elevated the entire experience. I highly recommend the Grand Hyatt Vail, and I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Wendy for making my visit memorable. Her outstanding hospitality is a true asset to the hotel.
Just finished a trip here and loved so many things about our stay. The location is 5 stars. You could get away with not having a car as you are within walking distance to Lions Head and Vail Village. The hotel is extremely dog friendly and made it very easy to take dog out. The service was excellent, so much so that we are dropping Ritz Carlton & moving over the Hyatt. This hotel could be 5 stars but they need to do a better job with outside maintenance. Would definitely stay here again!
We stayed here 2 nights for our honeymoon this Summer. The hotel is loud and kids running around everywhere. If you are looking for something more adult quiet and quaint this is not for you. The windows in our room were dirty and had not been washed. Also we had a major issue with the service and rudeness from one of the front desk members. We also requested the room to be cleaned and no one showed up to service the room.. The manager Kim was kind enough to give us some discounts which we were thankful for. Overall this hotel has so much potential but the service really brings it down. The views from this hotel are beautiful with Gore creek and from the main restaurant. I will say that there are so many events at this hotel it's hard for guests to enjoy the back patio area because it seems to be always reserved. It was a nice option but we will not be staying here again.
A Refreshing Mountain Getaway I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Vail for a girls’ golf trip and loved the fresh mountain air and warm, dry weather—a welcome break from Florida’s humidity. The hotel is large and modern, with very clean and comfortable rooms. It took a bit to navigate at first, and our rooms weren’t ready for about two hours, which was the only downside. But the rest of the stay was wonderful—great meals, fun happy hours, and a perfect venue for our women’s golf events. A beautiful spot for a relaxing and social getaway!
We had an amazing stay at Grand Hyatt Vail! The property is beautiful and located right by the creek with peaceful views and easy access to Vail’s mountain trails. The resort has a very relaxing vibe, and the shuttle service to Vail Village was super convenient. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a cozy feel with a fireplace, balcony and a mountain view. The beds were really comfortable too! We loved the outdoor heated pool and hot tubs perfect after a day of biking around town. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend this resort for couples, families, or anyone looking to unwind in Vail. Can’t wait to come back!
