The Hythe, a Luxury Collection Resort, Vail, offers a luxurious experience with stunning aesthetics and a warm atmosphere, highlighted by exceptional customer service and a variety of amenities. However, some guests have reported concerns regarding room size, inconsistent service levels, and security issues, particularly regarding property theft.
From the moment I stepped into the lobby of The Hythe Resort, I was captivated by its stunning aesthetics. The warm, inviting decor set the perfect tone for my stay, creating an ambiance that felt both luxurious and welcoming. The attention to detail was evident, making me feel right at home. What truly stood out during my visit was the exceptional customer service. The staff were genuinely warm and friendly, always ready to help with a smile. I particularly enjoyed the delightful touch of free s’mores and a cozy fire pit outside the lobby, which made for a perfect evening gathering spot. The complimentary hot chocolate was an added bonus that perfectly complemented the Wintry atmosphere. Breakfast at the resort was one of the best I’ve ever experienced! The variety and quality of the meal were impressive, ensuring that I started each day on a delicious note. Additionally, when needing directions to the ski lift and gondola, the staff were incredibly helpful, guiding me just a short 2 to 3-minute walk away. Overall, my experience at The Hythe Resort was delightful, and I loved every aspect of my stay. If I had one suggestion, it would be to update the rooms to reflect the same aesthetic charm as the lobby. Nevertheless, this did not overshadow the wonderful experience I had.
Avoid this hotel entirely! We stayed at The Hythe Vail for three nights and had over ten thousand dollars worth of personal property stolen directly from our locked hotel room. This included an Apple Vision Pro, a Chanel bag, and ski goggles. The items were not left out. They were inside zipped bags in our luggage. The in-room safe was too small to accommodate them, which is unacceptable for a hotel charging luxury prices. Someone went into our bags and selectively took high-value items. No one had access to our room except hotel staff. What is truly unbelievable is that after the fact, the hotel somehow determined that there was only one possible person who entered our room on all three days who could have taken the items. Amazing how quickly that conclusion was reached. Even more alarming, there are no cameras in the hallways. For a so-called luxury hotel, the complete lack of basic security infrastructure is shocking. The response from management was dismissive and devoid of urgency. There was no accountability, no meaningful investigation, and no concern for the seriousness of what happened. Being robbed inside your own hotel room is violating. Being treated like it is an inconvenience rather than a crime is infuriating. This hotel charges over two thousand dollars per night while offering motel-level security and a total lack of regard for guest safety. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and have never experienced anything like this. Not once. If you value your belongings or your peace of mind, do not stay here. Paying luxury prices only to be stolen from and brushed off afterward is an absolute disgrace. This is not a luxury hotel. It is an unsafe property that does not protect its guests.
I just stayed here for the first time this weekend and the hotel was extraordinary. The moment we pulled up, the valet came up to us and attended to our every need. Parker was the person who helped us. He made sure we got help with our bags, said 'hi' to my dogs, gave them treats and made sure that my car got charged up before we left. The valet even found one of our lost leather gloves and made sure it got back to us before we left. We used the heated pool and hot tub that evening even though it was below 0, and both were fantastic. We opted to get room service for breakfast with the ribeye and eggs, banana foster pancakes, bacon, juice and coffee. Everything was exquisite; just perfect. Our room was everything that we could've asked for. The fireplace was heavenly and, with our room overlooking the mountain, we truly couldn't have asked for a better stay. I've always had trouble sleeping at hotels, but the bed in our room was so comfy I easily slept through the night. The inside of the hotel was absolutely gorgeous. The bus stops right outside, so we just caught that to get into town, but if we wanted, they had a driver to take us wherever we wanted. At checkout, they made sure to help us with our bags, and got us everything else we needed. They pampered both us and my dogs. If you're thinking of staying in Vail, stay at The Hythe. I only stayed for the weekend, so I didn't get to try all of their amenities, but I will definitely be back so I can try out everything they have to offer.
It has now been two months since our stay at this hotel, and unfortunately the overall experience remains disappointing. After our stay, the hotel manager was supposed to contact us, especially considering that they requested our personal information through Chase. However, no one ever reached out. Upon check-in, we were repeatedly told that the room we were given matched our booking, even though we had specifically reserved a room with a balcony. Instead, the staff insisted that the room provided was “better,” rather than acknowledging that it did not match what we booked. Despite hotel was not full at all, it was not a big problem to move us. Additionally, at no point—neither before arrival nor during check-in—were we informed that the buffet breakfast was not operating. On the contrary, the staff emphasized how “excellent” the buffet was. Knowing that the buffet was closed would have been important, as breakfast was reduced to a very limited à la carte menu. For a hotel of this level, this is unacceptable. On one of the mornings, we were told that the waiting time for breakfast would be one hour, which is simply unreasonable and surprising for a hotel positioning itself as a high-end property. Overall, the lack of transparency, miscommunication, and absence of follow-up from management significantly affected our stay and do not meet the expectations of this category of hotel.
During our Christmas stay with family, we experienced a few areas of concern that stood out, particularly given the otherwise exceptional standard The Hythe represents. The property itself is truly incredible. The design, ambiance, and overall atmosphere reflect the caliber one expects from a Luxury Collection resort. One area I would recommend enhancing is the buffet experience at Revel. The restaurant’s visual presentation and setting are outstanding, but the service execution and food quality did not fully match the space or the brand promise. With refinement in those areas, the experience could align much more closely with the hotel’s overall excellence. That said, I want to specifically recognize Ajoyah for her outstanding professionalism and care. She went above and beyond in addressing our concerns, and quite frankly, she was the one individual who consistently picked up the phone, listened with intent, and took meaningful action to improve our experience. Her responsiveness, empathy, and follow-through made a real difference for our family. Because of Ajoyah’s efforts, our concerns were handled with care and respect, and our stay ultimately felt heard and valued. She is a true asset to The Hythe, and her level of service reflects exactly what guests hope for at a property of this caliber.
The Hythe was by far one of the best hotels my husband and I have stayed at! From the moment you arrive you are greeted by welcoming valet staff who helped us with our bags to our room. The front desk was very helpful with all the questions we had and broke down all the amenities for us. Housekeeping was very kind and every time they saw us they asked us if we needed anything. In the evening they would provide us with bottles of water, chocolate, and eye masks. The buffet each morning was amazing and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was what we looked forwarded to each day! The valet also has cars that can take you into town and pick you up when you’re ready to come back. We utilized this each evening when we had dinner reservations in the other village and the valet drivers were very kind and knowledgeable each drive. We were also celebrating something special and the hotel surprised us with a bottle of bubbly and chocolate covered strawberries. I absolutely would recommend this hotel to anyone!
We had an amazing experience at this hotel. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming, and the entire atmosphere feels super comfortable. The staff was truly exceptional. Gabe and Parker were especially fantastic. They were attentive, friendly, and answered every question we had with patience and detail. The hotel offers great perks like free s’mores and whiskey tasting, which made the stay feel even more special. The views of the mountain are absolutely stunning, and their free shuttle made getting around super easy and convenient. The hot tub and pool were also amazing - super relaxing and a perfect way to unwind after a long day. It’s very dog-friendly too, which was a huge plus for us. Our pup felt just as welcome as we did. Overall, I’d highly recommend The Hythe to anyone visiting Vail. Fantastic service, great amenities, and an unforgettable stay.
I had a wonderful birthday weekend at the Hythe. I traveled with my husband and puppies, happy to say, it's very dog friendly. I received a complimentary room upgrades and nice card from concierge Chris, which made my stay feel very special. Great connecting hicking trails right in the back of property. Room in Service breakfast, was delicious. High quality ingredients. Amazing helpful staff, specially valet. Only upside was that, I was allowed to have dinner in second floor restaurant with dogs in stroller, but not in the morning for breakfast. saw another person having drinks with their dog night before during dinner. I suggest a sign that says "not dogs allowed" to prevent any confusion. Definitely deserves 5 stars as a great place to stay. Exceeded my expectations.
Beautiful property in a prime location. Sean and the front drive team were amazing, and very helpful with suggestions on the area and complimentary rides. Kim at the grab-n-go cafe made the best Lattes for us, they tasted like they were made with love. Everything was perfect except the in-room air conditioning didn’t work and the room never got below 72°F which was uncomfortable. It was in the middle of the night when we noticed it didn’t work, so we didn’t say anything. I’m sure they would have moved us to a different room, had we noticed earlier.
We recently dined at Hythe, and while the food was decent, there were a few things that could be improved. Our soup wasn’t served hot, and while the steak was cooked okay, it didn’t quite stand out. That being said, the restaurant and hotel itself are absolutely beautiful — it was our first time visiting, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. The hotel is truly amazing and worth experiencing. Our server, Kevin, was polite but seemed to lack energy. Drinks took longer than expected to arrive, and he didn’t check in for refills. For a place of this caliber, we were hoping for a higher level of attentiveness. Hopefully, management will keep an eye on this so the service matches the standard of the setting.
