Antlers at Vail receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its prime location, convenient amenities like parking and ski valets, and friendly staff. However, recurring concerns involve cleanliness issues, particularly concerning odors and potential mold, and inconsistent room quality depending on the unit. Recent renovations and staff responsiveness appear to be improving the overall experience.
I feel obligated to share this to warn other travelers, especially those with allergies or asthma. The cleanliness standards in our unit were far below what you would expect at this price point in Vail. There was a strong odor in the room, kitchen rug, carpeting and the bedding had a noticeable smell resembling animals or dogs. The overall air in the unit felt musty, raising concerns about possible mold or moisture issues.I am asthmatic, and after one night I began experiencing respiratory symptoms. Following my physician’s recommendation, I had to leave the property early for health reasons. To their credit, management was polite and provided a credit for future stay. However, I cannot return due to health concerns, resulting in a significant financial loss. At these rates, guests should expect professionally laundered bedding, neutral-smelling rooms, and basic air quality control. If you are sensitive to air quality, pet dander, or mold, I would strongly encourage you to clarify cleaning standards before booking.
The Antlers is a hide-gem in Lionshead. Room was newly renovated. Great location — short walk to Lionshead Gondola. Service was above and beyond. I left my wallet at the hotel and they brought it to me at the Eagle airport so I could make my flight. Thank you Jeff!
We had a wonderful stay at this quaint condo-hotel in Vail. The room was spotless, everything worked perfectly, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The décor was charming, with a classic bear-and-lodge motif, and it was clear that great attention was paid to every detail. The fireplace added an extra level of warmth and coziness that made the space feel like a true mountain retreat.
Unit was very accommodating and kitchen had all dishes, pans etc that needed. Garage is nice and easy access to units. We even used the sleds to go out back and sled down small hill.
Terrific condo property right in Lionshead. Walk everywhere, even to Gondola. Park one car in the heated garage (no extra cost). Outstanding customer service, full size kitchens and the heated pool and hot tubs cannot be beat as they are located right beside the creek. Some units are PET FRIENDLY!!
Fantastic fire places! Easy to navigate, complimentary parking if booked directly through the Antlers. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Excellent location.
We married off my daughter at Piney River Ranch. We loved staying here. It was extremely roomy. We had a makeup artist and a hair stylist the day of the wedding. We all had so much room. My son in law cooked a huge breakfast for everyone. It was the perfect place for friends and family to gather. We highly recommend this place. Most of the wedding party also had their own rooms there. It was very convenient to walk to Lionshead Village for the rehearsal dinner also.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Antlers this July. Each unit is an individually owned condo, so there is a lot of variation among the units. The one we stayed in (409) was beautiful - it is really spacious, and it has a warm and inviting atmosphere that made all of us feel right at home! There is a washer/dryer upstairs, the kitchen has a Sub-Zero fridge and nice cookware, and the grill on the balcony was very clean. There were toys, books, and games that the kids loved, comfortable beds in each of the three bedrooms, and a beautiful view of Gore Creek and the mountains from the balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful. Antlers felt like home away from home - I highly recommend it for families, or anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing place in Vail!
Do not go to this place. It has been a disaster from the moment we walked in. 1) We couldn’t check in until an hour past “guaranteed check in time” (so 5pm). 2) The bunk beds - the top bed is falling apart and the torns parts falling into the bottom bunk. 3) The rooms are small - there is no dresser, one small closet upstair - if you can get your suitcase up the tiny spiral staircase (which is also where the washer/dryer is). 4) There is no air conditioning - I would get that in the winter. In the summer, it is 80+ degrees. I get it cools down at night, but after the kids go to bed - in their upstairs bedroom, where it is sweltering and stuffy. - there are supposed to be fans in the condo - not that we’ve seen. 5) We stayed in a “Platinum Room” - sounds good. It’s not. 6) Everything is gross and dated. There’s a Christmas nutcracker as part of the decor. The couch is a sectional that is completely disconnected. I can’t figure out how to get it to fit together. Didn’t think I’d have to. 7) The top “main” bedroom has a window that looks out at the hallway where everyone walks - basically, think a motel set up. So - beware. Definitely don’t be romantic with your wife there. 8) Relatedly, this bedroom has no window but the one to the aformentioned hall. So - to get any air into it (again, no AC), you have to open that window and that curtain - so, I guess people will just walk by and watch me sleep? It’s also right next to the elevator - so I’ll be hearing that non-stop. 9) The front room has a window, but it is stuck and does not open - so - you’re stuck with the heat that has accumulated during the day. No way out. 10) The faucets are all Delta - which, whatever. But it is a cheap brand and I suspect the reason half of them are leaking. 11) The bathrooms are remarkably cramped. Like - airplane size. The tiny sinks are on the outside. At $741/night - the standards are preposterous. If it helps, we are staying in room 409. The location is fine. The lobby is fine (definitely bait-and-switch kind of feel). We literally intend to leave this place early and go somewhere else because it is just so awful and nowhere near the caliber of what you’d expect in Vail.
The perfect spot in Vail to stay! Amazing location, accomodations and amenities. Would never consider anywhere else and would ALWAYS try to get unit #708, it was a perfect corner unit with easy access to an elevator, pool, etc. and the most amazing view of Gore Creek and Vail Mountain from our balcony. Thank you Antlers for an amazing vacation with our small boys!
