The Halcyon Hotel in Cherry Creek receives generally positive feedback, highlighting its stylish rooms, convenient location, and friendly staff. However, recent reviews indicate concerns regarding inconsistent service, particularly regarding billing and initial room cleanliness, as well as an unsettling valet experience. It’s a beautiful property with significant amenities, but management needs to address these recent issues.
Speakeasy bar was fun, and overall service was friendly. Sharing parking tips for those who want to avoid valet fees. We considered two parking lots since our luggage was minimal. On Saturday we parked our car at 250 columbine, which is right across the street from the hotel, and as we drove out on Sunday afternoon we paid $45. There was another nearby garage with cheaper overnight rate at $36
I was part of a group that had an incredibly disturbing encounter with a valet attendant at the Halcyon. From the moment we pulled up, the attendant’s tone was hostile and confrontational completely unprovoked. What made this experience particularly frustrating was how hard our group worked to de-escalate the situation. Multiple times, we calmly tried to diffuse the tension and bring things to a civil resolution. Each attempt was met with even more aggression. Rather than backing down, the attendant physically positioned himself within inches of our faces an intimidating and threatening move that left us feeling unsafe. We were also pressured to pay him directly through a personal Venmo rather than through the hotel’s official system, which felt completely inappropriate. No guest should have to repeatedly beg a service employee to simply treat them with basic respect. We did everything right — stayed calm, communicated clearly, and gave him every opportunity to course-correct. He chose not to. I genuinely hope management reviews this seriously. This level of behavior has no place in a hospitality setting.????????????????
This is my new favorite hotel in Denver! The staff, including Margot, Alejandro, James, Jack, Matthew and the entire housekeeping team, were absolutely incredible. Margot was exceptional and really went above and beyond. She was able to help with all of my many unique requests and gave me great local recommendations. The courtesy car service made going places so much easier and Alejandro was such a safe and friendly driver. My room was made spotless everyday. The women's clothing in the lobby was so cute! I even bought a pair of cashmere gloves. The rooftop hot tub is a great way to unwind after a long day. Everyone was so friendly. I can't wait to come back. I highly recommend staying here.
My wife has stayed here before and told me I would like. I love it. Room is nice and clean and well appointed. Not upper luxurious but certainly comfortable and clean. Each floor has a tap with filtered water and large bottles to fill. That tap also dispenses hot water and there is a variety of tea bags and mugs. The front desk has 24/7 barista services with latte’s, cappacino’s, espresso, Americano, etc. included in the room rate. The room has an espresso machine with pods included and snacks for purchase. The two restaurants and bars in the lobby are fantastic. Great location. All around great place to stay.
Beautiful hotel, but be prepared to be woken up at 5:30 AM every morning if you’re staying near the west side of the hotel by the noise from the alley and garage downstairs and next-door. The cheap sound machine they put in your room doesn’t help mask it. Totally ruined the experience by night 3.
I stayed at the Halcyon Hotel Cherry Creek in Denver and while I must say the property itself is absolutely beautiful, clean, and very well maintained, unfortunately the level of service did not meet the standards of a five star hotel. During my stay there were a few inconveniences that, although not major, were still disappointing. However, what truly ruined my experience happened after checkout. To begin with, I never received an invoice detailing my charges. A full week went by before I had to call the hotel myself to request it, because I noticed I had been charged a significantly higher amount than expected. The staff claimed the issue had been “corrected,” yet no one could clearly explain what the charges were for or why the correction was handled the way it was. Since I booked through Capital One and was entitled to specific benefits and credits, I had to make several phone calls just to get basic explanations about why those benefits were not properly refunded. The lack of clarity, transparency, and follow-up was extremely frustrating. The overall handling of the situation felt rushed and dismissive, which is very disappointing considering this is marketed as a luxury hotel. Guests should not have to chase down billing explanations or repeatedly request basic documentation like invoices. Sadly, because of this experience, I will not be returning to this hotel and I cannot recommend it. It is unfortunate, because the property itself is truly lovely, but great facilities do not make up for poor customer service. I sincerely hope the hotel improves its customer service and provides the level of care and professionalism that guests expect and deserve.
Fantastic overnight experience. Friendly and supremely helpful staff, quiet rooms with roof access and a fire pit, plus an in-room record player. Complimentary drinks at Happy Hour in the beautiful downstairs bar, and evening cocktails overlooking the mountains at sunset from the rooftop bar. And remember to ask about the secret cocktail bar… Such a good stay - highly recommended.
I stayed at Halcyon in Cherry Creek, Denver for a business trip and it immediately stood out from typical hotels like Hilton or Marriott. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine smiles, great energy, and even a complimentary drink. Mike and Matt at the front desk were exceptional. They were warm, helpful, and completely genuine — and they actually remembered my name when I walked back in later. It was my first day at a new job, and they helped me locate the office and recommended great nearby spots to eat, including Sol Cocina. The hotel is extremely well run, with thoughtful amenities like a rooftop restaurant, multiple dining options, and a gear room where you can borrow bikes and more. The room itself was incredibly comfortable — perfect bed and pillows, oversized towels, and a robe that felt truly luxurious. The Cherry Creek location is unbeatable, with everything within walking distance, including restaurants and dessert spots like Little Man Ice Cream. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Halcyon. Halcyon sets the bar for what hospitality should feel like.
My wife and I wanted to try something different for our anniversary this year. We decided to try a 24-hour staycation. We stayed at the Halcyon, and it was amazing! Great room! In 24 hours, we did everything in and around the hotel. We had dinner at Quality Italian, got into a speakeasy around the back alley of the hotel, and ended the next day with breakfast at Local Jones, the hotel restaurant. If you want a fun getaway, I highly recommend the Halcyon hotel. It was super cool, and we will go back!
A hidden gem! This hotel has everything right in the heart of Cherry Creek. Walking distance to everything including the mall. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The restaurants were awesome. We had the best lasagna in our life at their Italian restaurant. I’d definitely recommend. Their rooftop bar and pool area was exquisite with a wonderful ambiance. The Rare Bird, which is their rooftop bar with a little pizza kitchen is a MUST. The rooms were clean, eclectically decorated and well appointed. It had a safe, fridge, and Keurig. The bed was great, bathroom and shower were nice and the air conditioning was phenomenal. We like to keep it cold. The TV had a very nice channel selection with all the sports channels, paid movie selection and a built-in Netflix. The rooms were well thought out with a lot of nice touches. For instance, the record player with several albums to choose from. All in all, I give this place a solid 5 out of 5 and we can’t wait to stay here with our friends.
