The Holiday Inn Express Denver Downtown receives mixed reviews, with many guests praising the exceptional service of staff members like Gianni and Justina. However, recurring issues regarding room temperature control, cleanliness, and basic amenities such as functioning appliances and comfortable bedding are consistently reported. While the location offers convenience, significant improvements are needed to address ongoing maintenance and guest satisfaction.
We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Denver Downtown. Gianni was amazing and helped us with an early check-in and even upgraded our room because of a small inconvenience and for being members, which we really appreciated after traveling. The breakfast was great every morning and the service throughout our stay was excellent. When we were leaving, Thomas and Justina were also incredibly helpful and helped us with a late checkout, making our departure much easier. Overall, the staff went above and beyond. Huge thank you to Gianni, Thomas, and Justina for the exceptional hospitality. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Denver!
I was compelled to share how exceptional my experience has been here all thanks to Justina. From the moment I arrived, Justina demonstrated extraordinary kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. It’s beyond rare to encounter hotel staff who are not only efficient, but truly dedicated to making every guest feel valued and welcomed. She went above and beyond in every interaction — attentive, thoughtful, and always ready with a warm smile. Her level of customer service sets a standard that many in the hospitality industry strive for but seldom achieve. Justina doesn’t just do her job — she elevates the entire guest experience. Because of her, my stay has been seamless, comfortable, and memorable. Thank you, Justina, for making my stay so wonderful!
The room was so cold that we had to ask for two space heaters to bring it up to tolerable. The first time we asked we waited for two hours. After calling a second time, with no result, I had to go to the front desk to pick one up myself. We also requested an extra blanket, which we were told would be delivered to our room. Sometime in the middle of the night it was dropped off at the door, but we did not discover it until the morning. Also, for some odd reason it is now hotel policy that they do not put cups or a coffee pot in the room. I had to go to the dinning area to get a cup for my soft drink. The sheets also had stains on them. While I understand that "Express" is an economy choice, I have had better service at Motel 6. The only positives were the friendliness of the front desk staff and the breakfast was decent.
Gianni made our check-in experience at the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Denver absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and genuinely kind. He was very informative and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made us feel completely at ease. You can tell he is very educated and truly knows his job, but what stood out most was how much he cared about making our stay great. His positive energy and professionalism set the tone for our entire visit. Gianni is a true asset to this hotel, and we are so grateful for his hospitality.
GO ELSEWHERE! The water doesnt get hot, room temperature at best and its unable to be fixed. The bathroom is so small your butt could touch the door from the sink. The blinds dont fully close so theres always a gap for sunlight. And the valet lost my key and stranded us for half the day. The AC cannot be controlled so I have no idea why they even give you a panel for it. Bed was comfy though. AND theres a 100$ charge posted to my account they said wouldnt be posted because it was a holding charge.
The room was alright but AC can not be controlled. Central air is too cold during this winter season. Should have asked for more blankets or heater the other reviewer got. The fitness room is very good, well-equipped. It is somewhat close in the center of most of attractions in downtown area. Interestingly, no subway or train service in the city but just busses. I appreciated Gianni's help and signing me up for rewards + early 30 min check-in time. The breakfast options were good but no dairy free options for milk products. Could do even better with gluten free options. Overall, it was a slightly better than average experience. Would book again if visiting again.
Complete disaster. Never expected this from Holiday Inn Group. This is pathetic maintenance. No parking. Only option was valet. No heat in the entire building and the front desk did not have courtesy to inform us when checking in and once we found out and reported they gave extra heater. It was the same with all the guests that checked in with us. Room booking was with a confirmation of microwave in room, it was not there and the front desk staff denied the fact and did not change the room. They were rude enough to say if u want any heating come down 15+ floors and heat in the oven on the breakfast area. When asked for laundry options they did not have that too. Tea/coffee maker is not there in room. Nothing was there for confort. A perfect recipe to spoil holiday that we spend Only good thing was Breakfast was good, nice options Suggest not to book here for holidays.
Valet was amazing, super nice and quick. Hotel room was small not well maintained. We had a bucket with water in front of our door when we arrived. Shower was leaking, toilet was rusty and the room was 78 degrees when we got in there. You can not control your own thermostat and we were told when we checked in that if we needed it changed to let them know. So we called to get it turned down and the super nice maintenance guy brought us a box fan and turned off the heater. They have “central air” and that is their solution to cooling off the room. Overall not happy with the hotel experience here and will not stay there again. Was pretty close to the Ball Arena but much nicer hotels for about the same price.
We stayed here 11/3/25. Finding parking was a bit of a challenge. The only parking offered was $50 vallet parking, before tip, which seems a bit steep. When we arrived in our room the thermostat did not work, fridge did not work, TV did not connect to wifi, and wifi was slow and unusable. When talking to the front desk they offered me a space heater, but ended up giving me a fan. We froze overnight and could not do anything about it. The views were nice and the hotel was clean, but it was not an overall pleasant experience.
We stayed here after a long day in Denver and were really looking forward to a good night’s rest, but unfortunately it was a miserable experience. The room was absolutely freezing, and when we realized the heat wouldn’t turn on, we called the front desk and even left a voicemail… but no one ever got back to us. We ended up sleeping in our winter coats and tossing and turning all night because it was so cold. The window was filthy… the picture doesn’t even do it justice. When the sun hit it, you could see all the dirt, smudges, and fingerprints. To make things worse, the shower water was freezing too, so I couldn’t even take a shower after the long day. Between the cold room and cold water, it was just miserable. We both ended up getting sick after staying here, and I have no doubt it was because of how cold the room was. Definitely not the relaxing night we were hoping for. I feel a refund is necessary but doubt that is possible.
