The Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver offers a central location and stylish rooms, but recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in service and amenities. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and modern design, while some report issues with cleanliness, noise levels, and a lack of certain expected features like refrigerators, and inconsistent service delivery.
The rooms are nice and clean, and the location offers convenience to many places. However, the front desk does not seem to be very candid. We had stayed in a king bed room for three days. Enjoying the stay, we added another day, which was a room with 2 queen beds. We called the front desk and gently asked if it is possible to put the extended stay at the same room that we have been occupying for convenience. They said they were fully committed on king's rooms. But on Hyatt's own portal, king's rooms are available even with choices of different floors... We thought it was reasonable to ask because both rooms are of the same price, and it feels weird that they have to lie to us. Okay, we switched rooms and called it a day. Perhaps they were not in their best mood at the time. The day after, we called the front desk asking if it is possible to have late checkout. They again turned us down due to occupancy. As you may have predicted, that was not what Hyatt's own websites were showing. People understand if there are situations or policy restrictions. But it doesn't feel very nice to get lied to, especially when the contradiction is straightforward.
Honestly, a bit disappointed. Rooftop terrace: I didn't notice that the rooftop bar would not be open until Memorial Day when booking (my own fault), but we did check out the terrace on Saturday night. The space was unfortunately still littered with trash from a party the previous night. Elevators were also not very well optimized to head to that top floor, either. We had to take the elevator to 12 and then take another elevator to 15th. The room: the beds were comfortable, at least, and it was nice to have chromecast available to watch my own services. I did also enjoy the quality of the toiletries provided. The rolling door on the bathroom (already not great) was incredibly loud; no sneaking in or out in the middle of the night without waking your roommate! I was *incredibly* disappointed to realize there was no mini-fridge, something I assume is standard these days and didn't even bother to check before booking. The bedside lights flickered quite a bit when trying to set them, but were steady once set. The service: excellent service from the front desk staff and apple blossom staff. Thank you for helping check our bags until our flight home! Location: I likely would only stay in Downtown Denver for a work event. There was some good dining, but ultimately, I think there were other areas of Denver I would prefer to explore.
Thank you Tatiana for letting me check into my room at 11AM!! I was expecting to just leave my luggage at the front desk and come back later, so it was awesome to be able to come back. My stay was just one night but I loved it and can't wait to be back. It was the perfect place to rest and recharge after a busy day of siteseeing, and in a great central location. The room was cute and stylish, totally my kind of vibe. It was efficient space with good features. Also, very clean and well-maintained. I do wish there was a fridge instead of the cooler drawer, but not a big deal. Since it's a drawer that's out of sight, I did forget I had left a drink in there that I meant to save. I rented a car from the nearby Enterprise within walking distance. It was great that it was so close. I didn't use the hotel parking cause it was like $60 and instead booked parking on SpotHero app. I ended up paying just $10 for overnight at a garage one block away!
I enjoyed my 3 night stay. The staff was helpful and friendly. The lobby area was a bit small but it was adjacent to the restaurant and bar area which is a very nice size. The room was comfortable, very clean and nice. It had little touches such as lights on the bottom of the bed which would light up when I walked around at night. I would have liked to have a refrigerator rather than a “cooler” also a microwave would have been convenient. All in all, I will definitely stay again.
location is PRIME! charlie and karla were absolute superstars with check-in and overall experience. They made my experience a million times better. I would definitely recommend this hotel for their quick and immaculate service alone. Thank you to this team for making my stay comforting, easy and flawless.
I highly recommend Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very well equipped, offering everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent – central and convenient for exploring the city. The staff is friendly, professional, and very service-oriented, making the overall experience even better. Great hotel, would definitely stay there again!
I am extremely disappointed by my experience at the hotel’s restaurant this morning, which sharply contrasted with the otherwise beautiful property. When I entered the restaurant, I was not greeted or acknowledged by staff. After standing there for some time, I politely asked the bartender whether I should seat myself. Her response was shockingly rude and dismissive: “No, just wait there and try to be a little patient.” The tone was unnecessary and unprofessional, and I was left genuinely taken aback. Once seated, I informed the waitress that I was waiting for my friend to join me. About five minutes later, my friend arrived and sat down. After reviewing the menu, we politely let the waitress know, with a smile, “Whenever you have a moment, we’re ready to order—no rush.” Her response was openly hostile: “Can’t you see I’m busy right now? Just wait your turn.” At that point, another server stepped in and took over. While she was more professional, her demeanor was cold and unwelcoming. There was no sense of hospitality, warmth, or attentiveness—qualities I expect from a hotel of this caliber. The rooms themselves were clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the treatment we received at breakfast left such a strong negative impression that I will not be returning to this hotel. I truly expected better service and professionalism from an otherwise outstanding property.
The rooms were lovely and comfortable and while there were some staff who were friendly and helpful (such as the valets) others were just awful. I mean, extraordinarily rude. We had a company party in the Apple Blossom restaurant there and the head server was hateful- actually yelling at some members of our group and refusing to serve people who she decided had eaten enough. This was an elegant function-we are a healthcare group, most of us older, so it was definitely not a wild party - literally just dinner with Christmas music and a short speech from our leadership, so the yelling wasn't a reaction to behavior- it was for things like arriving 10 minutes early, attempting to move out of the way when SHE dropped a steak knife in one persons chair, etc. The next morning at breakfast, a different server was also rude and condescending, though thankfully not as bad as the one from the event. I will definitely not attend another function there and I think most of our group feels the same. If you want a comfortable room and don't plan to eat in the restaurant (the food isn't worth the price anyway) it's probably a fine place to stay.
Very spacious room and the bed is so comfortable. Sensor lighting was great when getting out of bed at night. First time I've seen dry bar hair dryer at hotel! Location good in financial district. There's a Target , Ross and restaurants very close by walking. Not too many people walking on the streets and didn't seem like there's much night time vibe in area
My first stay at a Hyatt and was very impressed. Clean room and was located downtown. Modern TV and motion lights around bed and in bathroom. Housekeeping came everyday. While no fridge, they had a chiller drawer. Was super impressed with the building engineer who came up to fix our heating and then our safe. He provided great service. We ate at the restaurant and the breakfast was good as was our server. They had gluten free options for my partner. I would definitely stay here again.
