The Magnolia Hotel Denver offers a downtown location and stylish, historic ambiance, but guest reviews reveal inconsistencies in cleanliness, particularly regarding bathroom maintenance, and occasional service issues such as towel shortages. While many appreciate the location, amenities, and staff friendliness, some have experienced outdated features and operational glitches.
I was so excited to try this hotel do to the high reviews and how nice it looked on the website. While the anesthetics is nice, it's lowkey DIRTY. My room was spacious but not functional, the TV is far away from there bed... no refrigerator but it's an executive room. I like having options so I check out different hotels and this hotel will be s NO ?? for me!
We stayed here for a conference. The location is excellent, approximately a 5–7 minute walk to the conference center. The front desk staff were very helpful. However, the housekeeping staff did not perform well. The bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly. The gym is very small and lacks weight machines. The photos displayed online/ google reviews are misleading, as the actual bathroom did not match what was advertised. I regret staying here and would recommend choosing a different hotel.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The lobby was cozy and the fresh cookies and milk was a nice touch. The receptionist upgraded our room which was wonderful and unexpected. The room had a separate living room and kitchenette with small dining table. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed and clean. There was free coffee and tea in the lobby the next morning. There was valet parking available, but it was very expensive. Thankfully we found a parking garage nearby that was only $6/night on a Sunday. The exterior architecture of the hotel is quite beautiful and the location in downtown is excellent. I would stay here again.
Really great experience staying here for one night. The building is beautiful. Room was clean and bedding high quality. I loved the shampoo/conditioner. Coffee in the lobby in the morning was delicious. Location was next to the D train which was perfect to take us back to our car in Englewood so we could get home quickly in the morning. Overall great experience and the price was by far cheapest than any other downtown hotel for that night.
Very accomidating staff. We went for a small business gathering and stayed for a week. The location is great as it was within walking distance to several fun things to do. The staff was amazing. I am in a wheelchair they greeted my at the curb took care of all my luggage made sure I had an ADA room with a wonderful bathtub that was super easy to get in and out of (I do not have the use of the lower half of my body) the front desk lady asked when I needed to head back to the airport so they could come get my luggage. They catered breakfast and lunch for us each day the food was better than expected.
We chose the Magnolia for it location near 16th street mall. We came down from Winter Park for my girlfriend's birthday. The check in was easy, the room was clean. We thought the tub had whirlpool jet as stated online, but it didn't. And we couldn't fill the tub via the normal way because the switch ( or whatever it's called ) was stuck or deliberately unuseable, so it took 25 minutes to fill from the shower head. No biggie. The safe was very confusing, and didn't work according to the instructions, but swiping my credit card opened it, so I did have access to what I locked inside. The breakfast restaurant was pricey, but delicious. Our one night stay was great though, and despite the small things, we do recommend the Magnolia as a great option gor under $250 a night. I do wish we didn't have to park on the street and wake up at 8am to feed the meter, but we did choose to stay downtown, and they didn't have any more parking for my large truck.
The building is old . The room smelled a little funny. The staff were excellent tho and very accommodating. It’s a prime location for a lot of things downtown. Overall I would definitely go back . The staff made it worth it for sure. Exceptional service. They let me check in at 11 am so I could go to the broncos game .
I had a great stay here! I think what really made my stay was the front desk worker Eddie. I arrived early from my flight & had been sick all night so really needed to rest. He was extremely accommodating, friendly, & helpful. That’s not something I experience at everything hotel. Eddie made my stay feel much more easeful than expected, give this man a raise!! Haha The room was spacious & clean, coffee and tea served in the morning, and free water bottles. My only “complaint” would to ask the hotel to stop using plastic water bottles and find a more sustainable system. Overall it was a great stay & I will be back!!
First the good! This is a well maintained, old historic building style hotel. The’ve done a good job with maintenance and regular cleaning. There is a decent bar, restaurant and coffee shop on premise and you can walk to over 100 restaurants within 15 minutes. It’s a GREAT location! The finishes in the rooms are a bit like what modern furniture looked like in 1970. Very comfortable and well built but a unique style. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. We were in a suite of 700 sq ft and it was well appointed. The service issue we experienced was what turned us off. We were scheduled for service for each morning of our 3 night stay. The first morning our room was serviced but they did not leave a back-up roll of toilet paper. The second morning we did not receive service which left us with no towels and no toilet paper. I let the front desk know as we were headed out to lunch and came back at 3pm to an unserviced room. I called the front desk for towels and TP and 90 mins later there was still no TP or towels. I called again to the front desk and after another 60 mins finally got our supplies. So, great location, decent facilities but poor customer care.
We had a wonderful stay at the Magnolia Hotel. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and in a great downtown location, but what truly stood out was the staff. A special mention to Samantha at the front desk she was the nicest, sweetest, and most genuinely helpful person we interacted with during our stay. From the moment we checked in, she made us feel so welcome. She was patient, kind, and went out of her way to help us with everything we needed, always with a warm smile. Her positive energy honestly made our experience so much better. The hotel itself is cozy and well maintained, and the little touches like the evening cookies and milk are such a nice bonus after a long day. Overall, a great stay made even better by exceptional service.
