The ART Hotel Denver, Curio Collection by Hilton receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location, unique art, and exceptional service, particularly from staff like Jillian and Emily. However, recent feedback highlights concerns about outdated rooms, uncomfortable beds, street noise, and a potentially high resort fee, alongside issues with cleanliness and security in the surrounding area.
We travelled to Colorado for Skiing and decided to spend a night at The Art Curio Hilton before heading to our ski resort. We booked a standard room through American Express Fine Hotel & Resorts program. But we were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a much bigger suite. My daughter really loved the big bathroom and tub. The restaurant staff were really helpful. Special shout out to the front desk staff Emily and Drew for their courteous service. Overall we had a great short stay
Definitely got the impression this hotel is resting on its laurels. We were excited to try it out after reading the amazing reviews, but the property is looking very tired. Our room was missing a drain plug in the sink, and many surfaces were visibly scratched and scuffed. The restaurant, FIRE, was okay. The menu had no allergen markings and staff had mixed levels of awareness about protocols. Implementation of the AMEX FHR program is odd, with tips bizarrely not included in the property credit. Overall, a clean and comfortable hotel, but not up to its apparent reputation.
Really wanted to like this hotel as it has a very cool, unique vibe; however, our experience was just OK. Rooms were in fair condition. Our shower leaked from the bottom and our drawers didn’t shut properly. The worst part of the experience was the location. There were tons of homeless people who followed us as we would get close to the hotel. I had a 9 month old with me so that was not acceptable. Ultimately, I would not recommend this hotel.
We stayed for five nights and it was the most beautiful, perfect hotel we have ever been to. Starting from check-in the staff was so amazing and as a diamond member, we got credit every day that we use the heck out of. The rooms were spacious, beds were comfy, housekeeping was on point every day. The gym is really big, it is the biggest gym in a hotel that I’ve ever seen tons of equipment. In the gym, they had plenty of towels, water, bottles, and music that you could turn up and down, and they played a good variety. They had strawberry water that they made every morning on ice and it was so good for the guests to have. Also, as Denver is very artsy, it translates that into the hotel. There are about 10 or 15 art exhibit that you can look at in the hotel and if you ask the front desk, they’ll give you a book explaining everything. I highly recommend this hotel to anybody in the area, it is on the more pricier side, but you get what you pay for being a Curio property. Thank you guys!
I highly recommend this hotel. I will start with check in. The staff member who assisted us, whose name I unfortunately forgot, was very informative and kind. I believe he is German. I would also like to thank Ernie for upgrading both of my rooms. That was awesome, and the view was very beautiful. The two rooms I booked were clean and comfortable. Overall, the service and the hotel deserve a 10/10 rating. The only minor issue was that the cold water in one room was coming out hot, but since we only stayed for one night, I chose not to call the front desk. If I come back, I will definitely stay here again.
I recently stayed here during a solo trip to Colorado and had a great experience overall. I did have a small hiccup with my luggage before leaving , but the hotel staff handled it well and helped resolve the situation, which I really appreciated. What truly stood out, though, was Jillian, the bartender. She was absolutely awesome, welcoming, kind, and genuinely made me feel comfortable as a solo traveler. Her personality, attentiveness, and positive energy made my stay feel less like a hotel visit and more like a place I could relax and enjoy. She’s the kind of person who leaves a lasting impression and represents the hotel so well. Thank you to the staff and especially Jillian for making my stay memorable. I would definitely return.
Fabulous modern hotel for stays as well as events! I am a wedding and event planner and have had the pleasure of working with Marissa and her team at this lovely space. Conveniently located across from the Denver Art Museum and other great Denver attractions. Funky/ fun, lobby, full of modern art. The Fire Restaurant and Rooftop is located on the 4th floor and is also amazing. Highly recommended venue with amazing staff!
Very helpful and friendly hotel staff. Check in was easy and the desk clerk did everything to make our stay nice including upgrading our room. The hotel is walkable to public transit and the cultural district (museums, library, etc). Room was nicely appointed and comfortable. There was only one hook in the bathroom to hang towels and stuff and there was no full length mirror in our room. Little things that would have been nice. The one negative was the HVAC system was very noisy and often woke us up at night
I stayed here from Oct 27–30 and really enjoyed my experience. Beautiful modern hotel with a great room on the 9th floor, friendly and professional staff, and an unbeatable location — just a short walk (about 4 minutes) to the Colorado Capitol and 10 to the 16th Street Mall. The area does have quite a few homeless people around, but coming from LA it wasn’t a big deal — they mostly keep to themselves. The restaurant FIRE downstairs is a highlight, and the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts benefits made the stay even better. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely return.
The Art is lovely. The detachable shower head convenient. The bed comfortable, but the street noise kept us awake. We appreciated the water bottles as part of the resort fee, though I’m not sure why there was a resort fee. The hotel has no bellman service. Probably fine for people who want a casual feel vs a full-service hotel. Both the television and the bathroom door had to be repaired. There was repeated confusion between oatmeal and oak milk through room service. The restaurant is a pleasant space but the menu is very limited and the food is fair. The people are nice, with the exception of an older hostess with long gray hair. We named her “ The Sunrise Ruiner.” She insisted on closing the shades while customers were admiring the magnificent sunrise. When asked to please wait a couple minutes, she refused stating she would be too busy to close them later when the sun would be bothering people. Very surprised at such an attitude. The front desk staff seem overworked. No one even bothered to ask if we enjoyed our stay when we were checking out or inquired if everything was ok. We chose this hotel because it’s easy walking distance to the art museum. But there are unhoused encampments along the path to the museum and drug addicts lingering near the hotel entrance. Nasty graffiti on the walls of a parking-garage next door. The room was more expensive than The Meridian, which would have been a short Uber ride to the museum. It has been years since we’ve chosen a Hilton and this experience reminded me why. There’s always something that seems to go awry at a Hilton Hotel.
