Ember Hostel offers a highly rated, social, and clean budget experience in Denver, praised for its secure keycard system, communal amenities like a communal cat and fire pit, and a helpful staff. While the location is convenient and the vibe welcoming, some guests have reported inconsistent cleanliness in the bathrooms and dorm areas.
I don’t have a great deal of experience with hostels, but I do with hotels. Looking to save a few bucks, I looked up cheaper stays and found this hostel online. Seeing the great reviews, I decided to take a chance and I’m so happy I did. First of all, it is CLEAN Secondly, the staff are POLITE and very friendly. There’s always someone at the the front door, there is a keycard both to get in the building and again to enter your room. I feel completely secure and aside from maybe the occasional strange local, the guests were all very nice as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED And even if you’re not concerned with money, staying in a hostel is an interesting experience in its own right.
If you’re looking for a top notch hostel experience in Denver then look no further than Ember. The house is clean, the service is exceptional, and the location is central. A tea station, full kitchen, laundry, plenty of bathrooms and privacy curtains for the bunks were all amenities I used frequently. After staying at many hostels of the years this is by far the best.
this is a good one for a trip on a budget. the common areas are really nice, especially the outdoors. the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. about the rooms, the bed was ok and the privacy curtains are great, but the dorm had a weird smell ?
Unfortunately my flight was canceled and I was rerouted to Denver. Luckily I had did a little research on Hostles in the Denver area, and I am very happy I decided on Ember. My 2 days were great! The check-in was seamless, and Calum at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay! He was assertive to all my questions, and made some terrific recommendations in the area. I was also impressed with the location. The Public transportation was only stops away, and I was able to visit all areas of Denver. I always felt safe, and the Hostle was very clean, and beautifuly decorated. The HOT shower was amazing, and I was able to have a home-cooked meal in the kitchen from Trader Joe's located a few blocks away! I will definitely be back in the future!! Thanks Ember for a lovely stay!
It was totally a scam for me, it looks more like a hookah place than a nice Hostel (yes! you can smoke in the garden but it won´t be nice if you are trying to have a nice time in the jacuzzi or talking when everyone else is smoking). They have a cat as a pet, so you´ll find cat hair all around (even in the kitchen!!) I wasn´t aware of that. I asked for cleaning service in the room bc it had a bad smell, and they just brought a spray :/ and I couldn´t open the window because it was winter. So, if you´re trying to book for a lady, I wouldn´t stay here. The guys in front desk were nice but I had to look for them all the time...
Really good experience. Ricky, Calem, Ethan, Lakshay and Leon were all great and very welcoming and accommodating. I really enjoyed my stay. Staff does a great job at cleanliness and making sure that the hostel is kept clean. Great people, great experience. Highly would recommend.
My very first time staying at a hostel and thankfully overall it was a great experience. The Hostel Manager (Leon) as well as the staff that I can remember Ricky, Ethan, & Lakshay were extremely welcoming, warm, & down to earth people. The establishment was well kept and clean. The outdoor area was nice with a 24hr fire pit going as well as a jacuzzi open until late night. If I’m ever back in Denver I’m staying here. Highly recommend!
I stayed for a night in August '25. And then was back for another night on my way home September '25. I arrived in August and informed front desk I had accidentally double booked (a technical snafu on hostel world) for that night and asked that I be refunded for the extra night. Front desk assurred me there would be no problem. Went to settle in for the night and found tomato sauce on my pillow. So obviously the bunk linen had not been changed. The front desk clerk did change the linen when I asked. The place was filthy in many respects - gross carpet tile, sticky doors, filthy yoga mats, hair and guck in the dribbling shower stalls. And then! After sending multiple emails I just found out they won't refund my extra night because I chose the non-refundable option. "No refunds for any reason". Thanks for the hospitality Ember Hostel!
I had to find a place at the last minute, and the Ember Hostel did not disappoint. The staff was super friendly and informative about what is around to do in Denver. The accommodations that Ember hostel has have everything you need during a trip. I did enjoy the other guests who were staying at the hostel.
Overall this is a solid stay for a quick trip on a budget. The bed was comfortable and the privacy curtains are great. Everything was quiet, restaurants are within walking distance. Showers very hot and temp in room was good. Nice common areas. hygiene wasn’t the best - the fan in my bed was absolutely CAKED in dust. The trash can in the dorm was completely overflowing and wasn’t emptied for several days. The bathrooms did not seem to be cleaned regularly enough- I saw an entire weekday go by without them cleaning them on my floor. I think if they raise their cleaning standards, it could be a really perfect spot!!
