TownePlace Suites by Marriott Denver Downtown receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the comfortable beds and convenient kitchenettes, while others express concerns about the hotel's dated appearance and inconsistent service. Recent feedback highlights both positive experiences with friendly staff and significant issues related to cleanliness and maintenance.
Rooms are decent- reflective of the price, not the best but you get what you pay for. Unfortunately they contract night time security-( possibly through a third party?) on a power hungry ego trip. The side door is broken so I went all the way around the long way and opened it up so I could carry up some things. As I was grabbing the large awkward boxes from my car the security came and slammed the door while watching me struggle. I explained I only needed to grab a couple things and he just shook his head no while glaring at me and mumbling under his breath. Apparently his little plastic badge went to his head and made him ruler of all that he surveys. Sad petty little man
Great stay. Fairly priced. Door left open after cleaning staff cleaned room even though we left DND hangar on the door. Daughters volleyball jersey item was left outside room in hallway. We were very lucky.
Clean spacious rooms, good breakfast, friendly desk staff and house keppers. The location is close to restaurants, grocery stores, and entertainment.
Had a nice stay at TownePlace Suites by Marriott Denver Downtown. The staff was very friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast — hot food options and Chobani yogurt were a nice touch. The in-room kitchen (with an oven and microwave) was super convenient. A couple of minor downsides: the water pressure in the sink and toilet was low, and the room felt a bit dated — the door didn’t lock properly due to misalignment. Overall, still a solid stay.
Just not what I was expecting from a Marriott property. Run down, fowl odor on main floor between lobby & elevators. Door to room and the bathroom was likely not even nice when new. However the staff was friendly and attentive.
Very short stay but the room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Windows that actually open was a bonus.
The location isnt bad at all but the hotel is sad. The room is dated and a lot of the peripheral things are broken or damaged. The screen in my windows are torn out and the ceiling looks like there was a badly repaired leak. The "free" breakfast is mostly heat and serve, no way to heat up the oatmeal and the milk in the fridge had spoiled. When I told the front desk they did nothing and the same spoiled milk was in the fridge again the next day. The bed is comfortable enough and the AC works. The neighborhood seems okay at first glance, but there are a LOT of transients. If you're a Marriot aficionado, stay in a different hotel.
Checking was fairly fast, as was checking out. Employees were friendly. Free breakfast was good with eggs, sausage, muffins, bagels, oatmeal, and cereal to choose from in addition to juice and milk. The room was a good size with a full kitchen and seating area, and it was clean. Separate bedrooms were a nice break from the kids. There was enough parking available. The lobby also has free drinks available. There were also games available for the kids.
The rooms are a little dated but they were cleaned and well maintained. The staff though, was amazing!!! They were so personable and friendly. They were helpful and very detailed, especially when checking in.
I’ll start off by saying that the staff was very friendly and accommodating. However, this place is old and gross. It was very clear to me that my room hadn’t been deep cleaned in a very long time, if ever. In fact the entire hotel seemed to fit the same vibe. There were stains and mold and holes and rust all over. The carpet was disgusting, the kitchen counters were stained. I had to have housekeeping come in while I was out to do a deep clean. I’ve worked in hotels in the past, and this is unacceptable! I’ve stayed in Motel 6s on the interstate that were cleaner than this! The shower curtain rod was falling down, there was mold in the bathroom, the room curtain was full of holes, my hairdryer had some suspicious residue that appeared to be mold? The neighborhood was decent, it’s right next to the hospital and for downtown Denver it felt safe. I was able to walk my dogs to a park a couple blocks away. I would not ever stay here again, unless it got a severe facelift. For the price I paid, I would expect at least the carpet to have been vacuumed. They offered to change my rooms, but I had already settled in and had a very busy day ahead of me, I simply did not have the time. I asked for a discount and The manager Barbara, who although was very nice, said the best she could do was either give me more loyalty points, or delete my pet fee/parking fee.
