The Courtyard by Marriott Denver Downtown offers a convenient downtown location with some charming historical features, but also faces significant operational challenges highlighted by recent reviews. Guests frequently report issues with parking, room temperature control, inconsistent service, and billing discrepancies. While staff is generally friendly, significant improvements are needed in problem resolution and adherence to Marriott policies.

The ceilings were beautiful! The hotel is old and has great charm. I would recommend electric work as we lost power in our room twice. We had to set the reset button. The bed was very comfortable. The temperature in the room was wonderful. Our room was big and clean. The towels were thin and not soft. I reserved a higher floor room and ended up on the 3rd floor. I would have liked an upper floor since I did request it. Casey at the front desk was very inviting and kind. Overall we had a good couple nights. It was very conveniently located. Parking here is by far the worst option. We parked at Independence Plaza on Curtis and 16th and it was 22.00 for overnights compared to 45.00ish at the hotel and they only have like 32 spots available.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Courtyard by Marriott Denver Downtown was unacceptable from start to finish. We arrived at midnight to check in after prepaying for parking in advance through a third party booking site. Upon arrival, we were told guest parking was “full.” No alternatives were offered beyond parking three blocks away for $22 and walking back to the hotel at 12:00 AM in downtown Denver. Since we had already prepaid for parking and specifically chose that option to avoid having to repark and pay again while visiting nearby restaurants, this was frustrating but we were going to comply. When we left to venture down to the parking garage, we noticed there were open spots in the guest parking area. Because we had prepaid and had been shown where guest parking was, we reasonably believed we were allowed to park there. Nine hours later, we woke up to three separate Marriott-issued parking tickets on our vehicle citing violations and stating that “photos are on file.” These were not city citations. They were issued by the hotel. When we went to the front desk to clarify the situation, we were told—while being spoken to in a condescending manner—that prepaying for parking was “not an option.” While this was being said, another guest approached the desk and stated she had the exact same issue. She also had prepaid for parking through a third-party site and was told it was not valid. That same guest then informed the desk agent that her vehicle had been broken into overnight. The employee acknowledged knowing about it. According to their conversation, her car was broken into at midnight and again at 5:00 AM. The hotel reportedly called her once with no answer. They did not knock on her door, did not call the room directly again, and did not contact police. Instead, the employee described personally confronting the individual and telling them not to return. A grocery bag of sunglasses was recovered and kept in a back room. Hearing this while standing there disputing parking tickets was extremely concerning. Not only were guests being ticketed for parking confusion related to prepaid options, but vehicles were being broken into on property without proper notification or police involvement. To summarize: • We prepaid for parking. • We were told parking was full and sent three blocks away at midnight. • We later found open spots. • We received three Marriott-issued tickets within nine hours. • We were told prepay parking was “not an option” despite booking it. • Another guest experienced the same parking issue and had her car broken into twice in one night. • The hotel called her once and did not involve police. The lack of accountability, dismissive attitude from staff, and overall handling of both parking and guest safety concerns were deeply disappointing. We expected far better from a Marriott property.

Warning.... While the hotel is beautiful and in a great location, management is horrible. My son wss accused of making noise and charged $100 while his GPS proved he wasn't even at the hotel at that time. When he asked for video evidence or the key card entry to prove he was not there management refused and laughed as if this is standard procedure. I highly recommend giving your money to a company that doesn't scam you. Still in shock and filing fraud on my card as we speak.

Good location in downtown Denver that is within walking distance of many attractions. Hotel amenities offered aren't anything special and in room bathrooms are on the small side. There is a bakery open for breakfast and a Mexican restaurant onsite, but both on the pricey side depending on what you order. There is a great diner around the corner, Sam's No. 3 that I recommend instead. Self parking is also pricey. Be prepared to pay to reserve a spot for your whole stay to make sure you'll have a spot as the parking lot is small. Otherwise, decent for my most recent business trip where I stayed for 2 weeks.

????? On Service: Very Disappointing Front Desk Experience I had an extremely unpleasant experience with the front desk staff on December 28 around 7:00 PM. The young woman working at the desk was rude from the very first interaction, did not listen, and showed a complete lack of basic customer service skills. Instead of trying to understand or assist, she spoke in a dismissive and disrespectful manner, interrupting and responding defensively without allowing me to explain my situation. Her attitude made it clear she is not properly trained in hospitality, communication, or guest relations. This behavior is unacceptable for a hotel front desk, which should be welcoming and solution-oriented. I hope management takes this seriously and provides proper training, as this kind of interaction reflects very poorly on the hotel overall.

Overall, the hotel itself was very nice. We had visited when they were decorated for Christmas and it was beautiful, and the staff was excellent. My main concern was that anyone off the street had access to the lobby through the Mexican restaurant or the sick store attached to the hotel. The store had an entrance that allowed them to bypass the front doors and make it to the vestibule, and the Mexican restaurant had a door that led to a shared bathroom that did not require a key card to get in. I felt safe the entire time being there, however given the cold winter nights and the amount of homelessness I saw, it’s worth noting.

I wish I could do 4.5 stars as this was by far the best Courtyard hotel I’ve stayed at. The style inside was that of a classic 1920’s railroad hotel with an inner courtyard, wide hallways and updated rooms. It was well cared for and full of attentive staff. The only downside was no free coffee in the morning but there is a paid cafe off the lobby. Great location too!

Definitely a nice hotel tucked away in downtown Denver. Tons of security measures across all doors is nice to see. Check-in was smooth & the room was clean! Semi-comfortable bed with high ceilings. Walkability couldn’t be easier as one entrance to the hotel is literally on 16th Street. The central location makes this hotel very appealing. Great one night stay overall, but the walls are definitely on the thinner side. We could hear the conversations next door.

First of all the hotel was beautiful, clean, and peaceful. A very enjoyable stay over all. But what it made it over the top amazing was Riley. She was the very helpful supervisor who made our stay possible. After being stuck in Denver due to car troubles, she helped us get situated after a stressful day. Thank you again for all your help. (give her a raise and promotion)
