The Hampton Inn & Suites Denver Downtown offers a convenient location near downtown attractions and the convention center, with generally positive reviews regarding staff service and breakfast. However, the hotel is aging and some guests have noted issues with room quality, parking availability, and outdated facilities, including a missing hot tub and elevator problems.
Hotel is old and needs renovations. Bed is as hard as a rock. Rooms look more like a motel. No plush sheets or comforter. Thin sheets that are ratty looking. They do a good job is keeping it clean for the most part but it’s just old and really is more of a 2 star hotel. Close to the convention center and other downtown attractions within 1-2 minute walking distance! Great customer service by staff as well! Super responsive manager on duty (tall black man grey hair) hotel just isn’t my type of aesthetic. I couldn’t sleep well for the 3 nights I was there, I checked out early. If you typically like updated modern hotels, don’t stay here. If you’re someone who doesn’t care..this place is for you! The aloft (Marriott) brand is literally up the street and much better hotel for same price or cheaper. Hampton gets a bonus for having a microwave in the room. 5/10 wouldn’t recommend if you have higher taste but great customer service. Very responsive and kind staff!
First time stay and when we first got there valet was friendly and answered questions. Front desk staff was ok, just took my debit card and Id and gave keys. Friendly enough. We loved the beds and pillows!! So comfy. Breakfast was good, my kids loved the waffles. We did go to the pool but ide be questioning why it does have an odd smell when you get out and it may not be as clean as you think. We def didnt go swimming again. Parking was a tad stressful but manageable. Maybe they should extend the time an extra hr but not the hotels fault as those pay to park are from other contractors and nothing to do with the hotel. Location was great. Overall we had a great experience!!
Really reasonable rates for Downtown Denver and the location is great for visiting the capital and arts district. Walkable to several sites and restaurants. Stayed there over the weekend and it pretty quiet. Breakfast was pretty good. Lots of choices for continental including eggs tators and sausage. Staff was friendly and helpful. Never having been there, I opted for the valet parking. When I got there, learned that street parking was free on the weekend so didn't use valet. I had forgotten about choosing valet parking when making the reservation but when I called they said no problem and immediately took the charges off and refunded my card. The room was great, although the desk chair wasn't too comfy. Bed was firm but acceptable. Lots of cool stuff to do in that part of Denver. I'd stay there again.
The hotel is a perfectly serviceable Hampton Inn. The parking, however, is some of the worst I've seen outside lower Manhattan. The apparent street and lot parking is actually not suitable for hotel stays as they all expire at either midnight or 6am. After being frustrated my first night, I circled the block the next morning and checked literally every lot and garage within a block of the hotel. Only one, the brightly painted garage to the east side of the hotel, allows overnight stays. I assume the hotel expects you to valet, but the valet lot itself only holds about 15 cars. Tl;dr be prepared for a very annoying parking experience. Brace yourself.
Hotels was good for the value. We got a king suite that said it could sleep 4 the beds were very hard, the fold out couch bed was a full so didnt really fit 2 people, and the bathroom didnt have a vent. The pool was awful. My kids really wanted to swim but the first time they got in, they experienced eye burn from the excessively high chlorine levels. We alerted staff, the pool was locked up for several hours, kids tried to go back it but it was no better. Other families had babies who were crying due to the high chlorine.
Had to stay for a night due to a family emergency and flight cancelation. Was given an early check in and late checkout without any problem. The room upgrade was an added luxury and will definitely stay here again!. Check in was also super smooth using the HH app and the digital key. Breakfast had everything you could possibly want and 24hr coffee. Location is close to EVERYTHING! Do yourself a favor and book here. 5 stars all the way.
I stayed here for 5 days for a conference. Wonderful room and amenities! I used the gym most mornings and greatly appreciated the breakfast options. Every interaction I had with the desk staff and the valets was very nice. 10 out of 10 would recommend!
While we had some hiccups during this visit, the staff were all excellent, night and morning. I would say overall, preventative maintenance is what is bringing this location to a 3, instead of 4 star (rust, stain on the wall, etc.), plus some lack of detail (shampoo/soap not all faced in the same direction for example). During our staff one or two elevators were down and from what we saw, the staff and guest elevators are one and the same. This hotel has a nice sundries selection and the breakfast that is included is of great value and variety, to include fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, assorted breads, cereals, and hot items pictured. Keep in mind that you are located close to downtown, though not in direct heart, and because of this street noise will make it into rooms-it is what it is, but truly didn’t keep us up. All parking is uncovered, valet and self, and located on the sides of the building. A small area in front of the hotel is simply for unload/load.
Very Clean and Quiet Hotel. Employees were Great & Valet took Good Care of our New Truck!! Breakfast was very Good. I had Surgery, so I felt very Comfortable there!! Thank you for a Positive Stay.
The rooms are fine. I think k they are in the process of renovating which will be great. We stay at this hotel when visiting Denver for Broncos games. The breakfast is fine, the service is very good and the location is ideal for us. Valet parking is expensive, but Jarrett M is exceptional! The only reason we are willing to pay for valet parking is the service we receive from Jarrett M.
