Hotel Alpenrock Breckenridge offers a luxurious and modern mountain retreat with stunning design and convenient access to both the slopes and town. Guests consistently praise the exceptional service, comfortable rooms, and a variety of amenities, including a sophisticated bar scene and ski valet. However, recent reviews have highlighted some inconsistencies in room temperature control and elevator performance.
We had an amazing stay at Hotel Alpenrock Breckenridge. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and has a true luxury mountain feel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The location is perfect—close to the slopes, shops, and restaurants. The coffee bar is incredible, the food was fantastic, and the hidden speakeasy adds such a fun, upscale touch. The staff was incredibly friendly and made our stay seamless. We will definitely be back!
We had an amazing weekend stay at Hotel Alpenrock. The property and rooms are beautiful and spacious. Great food, drinks, and après happy hour prices at the Carter lobby bar. The location was easy to get around without a car - only a few minutes walk to the Quicksilver and Beaver Run chairs, and an easy walk to Main St in Breckenridge. We rented skis from the Breck Sports location in the hotel and used the Ski Valet to store our gear each night, which was extremely easy and convenient. Our favorite part of the stay was the friendly, helpful staff members who took great care of us - shoutout to Javier at the front desk, the Carter bartenders, and the Ski Valet team. We look forward to returning to the Hotel Alpenrock on future ski trips!
We had an exceptional stay at Hotel Alpenrock in Breckenridge and would absolutely return. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with a thoughtful design that balanced luxury and comfort. The beds were incredibly comfortable - perfect after a full day on the slopes. Our children loved the room, especially the large windows overlooking the snow-covered grounds. The hotel itself is stunning. The design blends modern sophistication with mountain elements in a way that feels elevated yet cozy. It truly has a “mountain chic” feel throughout. The location and ski access were also very convenient. The hotel provides an easy, short shuttle ride to the Village, where my husband and son attended ski school. Being able to get to lessons quickly without hassle was a huge plus for our family. It’s also very convenient to Main Street, making it easy to explore Breckenridge’s shops and restaurants. Dining on property was consistently excellent. We had breakfast sandwiches at the café, lunch at The Carter, and two dinners at Edwin. Every meal was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. It’s not always easy to find hotel dining that both adults and kids truly enjoy, but we found that here. One of the most fun surprises was the speakeasy inside the hotel. It felt like stepping into a city hideaway — intimate, stylish, and a perfect way to unwind in the evening without leaving the property. Overall, Alpenrock delivers on service, design, comfort, dining, and location. It feels upscale yet welcoming, and it works beautifully for both couples and families. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Breckenridge.
I recently stayed at Hotel Alpenrock in Breckenridge and was disappointed given the premium price point of the property. From the first day, there were several issues that impacted the quality of our stay. Upon arrival, we went up to the 9th floor only to find that our room keys did not work. After calling down to the lobby, we then had to wait for staff to come up and provide new keys, which was frustrating after a long travel day. The room temperature was a constant problem. The room was extremely hot at all times, even with the thermostat set to the lowest possible setting and the window left open day and night. This made it very uncomfortable to sleep and was never resolved during our stay. Housekeeping was also inconsistent. On multiple occasions the room was not restocked with toilet paper, and I had to go down to the lobby several times just to get a new roll. For a room that is priced at a luxury level, it was also surprising that there was no microwave provided, which is something I would expect at this rate. Breckenridge is a great destination, and the hotel has potential, but the lack of attention to basic comfort and service did not match the cost of the stay. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves these areas for future guests. V/R Marino Joseph Miklja Hiltons Honors Member
Ski hard, après harder — an absolute Peak 9 gem Hotel Alpenrock is the ultimate ski trip win. The location by the Peak 9 ski area couldn’t be easier, but what really made the experience next-level was the ski valet and après-ski vibe. Dropping off your gear with the ski valet and walking straight into cozy comfort after a day on the slopes is a game changer. No hauling boots, no mess — just instant relaxation. Après-ski here is exactly what you want after skiing all day: warm, lively, and fun without feeling crowded or chaotic. Whether you’re grabbing a drink, hanging out with friends, or just soaking in the mountain energy, it’s the perfect way to wind down before doing it all again the next day. The rooms were comfortable, stylish, and spotless, and the staff were friendly, upbeat, and genuinely welcoming. Everything felt easy, seamless, and well thought out — which is exactly how a great ski vacation should feel. If you want true Peak 9 access, effortless ski days, and an après-ski scene that makes you want to linger a little longer, Hotel Alpenrock is the place. Five stars without hesitation.
This place was almost perfect!!!! The location was a 3 min walk to the ski lift. The hotel was so clean that evey morning I would see the cleaning staff flood the entire hotel cleaning from top to bottom and they were always so kind. The staff was professional and always helped whenever you needed anything. Everyday they had a hotel event that was free and included discounted drinks. They had a shuttle come every 20 min that took you to town and had a ski and snowboarding valet that saved your gear and had it ready when needed as well as a place to change and get ready. I loved the outdoor hottub and lobby was a vibe. I would often hang out there. The rooms were modern and had so much storage that my wife could have brought another 2 bags full of luggage lol. The only reason why I cant give it 5 stars was the bed was so bad we could not sleep comfortably. It was too firm. The other was the food at the caffe which was not great and there was no in room service. The final negative was the elevator. There was only 2 and if it went to level 2 it would stop at 3 then go to 2 then back to 3. I would love to come back but would have to ask for a softer bed
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Alpenrock in Breckenridge. The check-in process was seamless, the rooms were very nice and renovated. The lobby/bar/lounge area was beautifully designed, and we learned about the craft of the interior design while on the tour before entering Canary. The speakeasy was a unique and enjoyable experience where we were offered one on one service to create craft cocktails of our liking. Danny, the bartender at Canary was very talented and nice to speak with offering us local recommendations which we appreciated also. Our favorite staff member was Chris, the lead bartender at the main lobby bar. He was always accommodating and became as a friend by the time we had to leave. He’s the best! The hotel is located almost directly across from the Peak 9 ski lifts, and you are able to store your ski gear at the hotel, which was super convenient. It is a small 8-10 minute walk down the hill to the main downtown area, or you can take advantage of the hotel shuttle, which was also super convenient. The only slight inconvenience our entire stay was the hotel’s elevator situation in which we had to take multiple elevators and detours to get to our room, however, it was not a big enough sore to where it hindered our stay or experience. It was a wonderful stay and I am proud to be part of team Hilton! We would love to come back in the future!
Pros: across the street and a small parking lot to lift. Friendly staff. New facility. Very welcoming lobby with awesome fireplace to warm up. Hot tub area very nice. Cons: rooms warm, thermostat does not go below 68 (even with window opened the crack they allow). Only ATM was out of service. Ice machine took 2 elevator rides and walk down long hallway. Overall very nice and clean facility. Would I stay again? No. Bar food and restaurant was over the top bougie. Not for the regular diner. Just my wife and I. Wouldn’t recommend bringing kids/family.
This is a beautiful hotel. We enjoyed the complimentary shuttle to visit town and the ski valet was super convenient. Highly recommend if you are skiing or snowboarding. The room was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant, Edwin, was just okay, not super impressive. We enjoyed the live music and nice lobby area. The rooms don’t get cooler than 68 degrees and felt very warm so we had to leave our balcony door open to sleep. We took advantage of the hot tubs and exercise room which were both very nice. We would come back :)
Overall this newly renovated hotel is very nice with lots of amenities. There is no shortage of food/drink options at the hotel, and overall is pretty reasonable considering they are hotel amenities. If you ski/snowboard, all you have to do is stop down, grab your warm boots from the ski locker & walk across the street to access peak 9 lift. The water stations are a nice touch being at a dry high altitude. Overall our biggest complaint was the room, we booked the king deluxe with sofa bed which all the photos show great views & lots of natural light. The two rooms we had were not similar to the pictures, they viewed a courtyard, and then when we asked to switch, had a walk out balcony but it was facing a hill & part of the hotel. The beds are also extremely firm, which I normally don't complain about, but after a long day of skiing, you look for a comfortable bed/room to recharge. The $10 daily resort credit also had to be requested back to us at the end of our stay so watch out for that.
