The Denver Marriott West receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the helpful staff, convenient location, and well-maintained facilities like the pool and lounge. However, recurring concerns include outdated rooms, cleanliness issues, inconsistent service, and unexpected fees. Recent reviews highlight problems with AI-powered front desk interactions and issues with room maintenance and billing discrepancies.
The front desk staff were very helpful and ended up upgrading our room to concierge class and made sure our room was available early for us. I appreciated the concierge lounge on the 6th floor. It had great snacks and beverages and a coffee machine that was available from 6:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Breakfast was also great and had lots of options including make it yourself waffles and lots of other dishes (biscuits and gravy, Denver omelette, variety of pastries cereals and yogurts, as well as options to have your eggs made anyway you wanted). Because I had concierge class, my breakfast was free but otherwise it would have costed $68 for three of us, which is pretty steep. The pools are very nice. There is an indoor and an outdoor pool, but there is no hot tub. The rooms had comfortable beds, but there was a lot of wear and tear in our room (631) particularly in the bathroom. Vents were hanging loose in the bathroom and in the bedroom and the bottom drawer on the dresser would not stay shut.
Rooms are ok but small. Outdoor pool is nice. I left an item behind and when I contacted front desk, they said they were too busy to look through the lost items and that I should fill out a form online, and they’d contact me. That was 5 days ago, I’m home now 3,00 miles away, and I still haven’t heard anything (and obv can’t pick it up now). Pretty crummy.
Great location, but the overall experience was frustrating. The automated phone system tried far too hard to get me to provide a rewards number that didn't exist, making a simple room reservation unnecessarily difficult. It took more than 20 minutes to finally reach a person, and most of that time was spent listening to repeated messages assuring me that I was "next in line." When I finally got through, the representative seemed uninterested in helping me book a room and provided poor customer service. To make matters worse, I was assigned a room right next to the elevators despite there being other rooms available, which resulted in additional noise and made the stay less enjoyable. The location is excellent, but the booking process and customer service left a lot to be desired.
Maybe “4-star hotel” means pay extra 4 everything. Pay extra for wifi, pay extra for parking, pay extra for breakfast… Overall the room was comfortable. It looked like your standard hotel room. The bathroom, however, is small - with the door not far from the edge of the toilet.
Lobby area is updated, the rooms are standard Mariott brand. The bathrooms are smaller than newer properties but service was good and housekeeping service, even though we passed because we had our pups, was very accommodating in getting me items I ran out of. One point of note, they are using AI to answer the front desk, that proved to be a frustrating experience. I just wanted to let them know I was leaving. Aah, changing times
Gold member. 2 night stay. First night toilet stopped working. It’s midnight and no staff available to fix it. Required to change rooms. Told management would take care of my account for the inconvenience. Whatever that means. Next day had a question at the front desk. Staff completely rude. Went from Diamond at Hilton and switched to Marriott to see how the service is. Complete crap. Maybe it’s just this hotel. Stay elsewhere for the money you’re spending.
The hotel has a nice, modern feel, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. However, the room could have been cleaner, and the noise from the hallway was a bit disruptive at times. Overall, it's a decent place to stay, but there's definitely room for improvement.
WARNING: This hotel steals money! Was charged an Incidental Fee of $388. Only bought a $6 coffee. Was told I'd only get a credit of $294.70. Not only was there a discrepancy in what I was owed. I never even received that amount despite a receipt that said I'd be getting a credit. They lied to my bank and told them that this was a charge for services received. What services?! They were not upfront about taxes, fees or when/how and most importantly IF you will get any money back. Also upsetting is the horrible room experience. The toilet didn't flush. The HVAC ran all day and night but the room never got warm. The bed was hard and the blanket was thin. The television was broken and the tech had no idea what they were doing and didn't fix it. The front office guy who stole my money for the Incidental Fee was rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional. I have never had a good experience at a Marriott hotel and had my job not put me up, I would've never even crossed the threshold. I will NEVER stay at this or any Marriott ever again. They are overpriced and dishonest. They steal money and it's not worth the uncomfortable stay.
We stayed here on Valentine's Night. We had a special dinner reserved nearby & we made a staycation out of it. This is such a gorgeous hotel!!! We stayed in a room with a balcony. The rooms are in desperate need of renovation. They are very dated. The pool & gym areas are awesome, spacious & clean! Front desk staff & our Bartender were helpful, friendly & very welcoming! What a lovely place.
Excellent experience staying here. Great location with easy access to nearby businesses and shopping. The staff were very friendly and informative. Facilities were very clean. It is an older hotel but has been maintained well, is clean and safe. Definitely a location that caters to business travelers/meetings with lots of meeting/conference space. Very nice lobby lounge and room service.
