The Holiday Inn Express Denver Central North generally receives positive reviews, highlighting excellent customer service, a comfortable stay, and convenient amenities. However, concerns regarding noise levels due to its location near a highway and occasional cleanliness issues have been raised.
My stay at this hotel was excellent. Ryan, the hotel manager, provided outstanding service. When I faced a few problems, he addressed them promptly and professionally. The room rate was affordable, and my room was serviced every day.
Great hotel to stay at for a fun trip in the area. Free parking was perfect! Bella was a gem when we checked in. She was incredibly friendly and helpful and made our first exhausting day of travel easier. The room was spacious, bathroom was clean. Bed was comfortable. Yes you can hear the highway noise, but we kept the TV on and it drowned most of the noise out. Breakfast was great every day, very nice variety. Fresh ground coffee was great to have at any time, day or night. Hotel is a 10/15 minute drive to downtown for any activities. Will definitely stay here again on a future trip!
Kinda disappointed in my stay the first day we were without TV and a cable phone my mom has health issues and I had no way to call anyone if a emergency happend and my phone was dead :/ TV was the most bummer I'd expect IHG to respond a little faster and staff had little care in the issue :/ expected alot better I guess. Rooms were pretty dirty as well.
I am so thankful we ended up staying here! My booking was originally for one of their other properties but with multiple large events the weekend we arrived we ended up having to go somewhere else. Thanks to Chelsea and Taylor we were able to find a nice, clean, and most importantly safe place to stay during our visit. We were in the perfect location to explore Colorado. You can definitely hear the city traffic but they offer earplugs at the front desk as well as having the option for a constant fan/white noise in room. We loved having the option to eat breakfast before heading out for a busy day and being able to relax by the heated pool. We can’t wait to visit again!
So, just don’t stay here. I accidentally ended up here after my hotel wasn’t booked and I scrambled to find a place late at night after a flight. I was grateful to find a place but it would have been better to look just a little bit harder. A hotel has one primary job - you get a bed, and you get to sleep. But you can’t here. It’s next to a freeway and a train. You’ll hear every single car and annoying dude with their modified exhaust all night long. But also every Tesla and noisy tires. And then the trains, oh my the trains. They blast their horns all night long. The staff here is nice, and do what they can. In fact, they’ll offer to give you earplugs. But then you get you try to sleep with earplugs in your ears which is an unpleasant experience and they don’t help block the noise. So I got to wake up from ear pain, noise, and ear plugs working their way out all night long. This hotel should be built significantly differently if they want it in this spot. As it is, it should not exist and people should not stay here. The cleaning services are not great. I have a bug smashed and rolled up in the blinds. Not a little bug. A juicy beetle of some sort. And it looks to have been there since the freeway was built perhaps. Also, after my first turndown service the floor ended up with sticky drips of…something….all over from near the toilet into my room near the bed and near the entrance to the room. So it stuck to my shoes and socks and I had to use a towel to cover up the floor so I could walk around without being grossed out. You’d think perhaps the fact that I had towels all over my floor would have clued them in to the idea that something was off here, or maybe they’d notice their own shoes sticking to the floor, but apparently they didn’t. So it stayed there and I’d get busy with my conference (where I unfortunately slept more soundly when I should have been awake) than I did at the hotel… What a disaster. Stay far away. Hey, but at least I get to watch Bluey at 2 am.
I spend about 30% of my professional life in planes/hotels. This is my second stay at this hotel. The rooms/beds are clean and comfortable, and the service is A+. Thanks to the manager, Ryan, I won’t stay anywhere else on my trips to Denver. He’s a top-flight hotel manager, and I’ve stayed at hotels in over 20 countries over a span of 28 years. Remarkable! 5 stars, well-earned.
Staff are helpful and friendly. Rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast has a nice assortment of options. It's a little loud because of its proximity to the highway and a railroad track, but it relatively quiet that notwithstanding. Worth the price and the view of the Rockies is really nice from the top floor.
This was honestly one of the best stays I've had at a hotel, and was also very affordable; caught a red-eye flight and desperately needed sleep, and the lady at the front desk (Angela, I think?) let us have a super early check-in! They have a lot of amenities and snacks to purchase, the bed was comfy, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety! We will definitely stay here again in the future!!
Odd hotel... the layout is different, kind of "industrial" feeling. This suits right next to the freeway and even though they said i have one of the quieter rooms the traffic noise was constant. The lighting in the room was also odd. No light to turn on when you walk in. Just the bathroom light and the switch want where I thought it would be. Also if you don't like light when sleeping there are several little lights that keep the room lit when trying to sleep. I covered them with black tape the 2nd night. Other than that the room was decent, normal H.I. breakfast.
Do not stay! I wish I could give a zero star! Extremely rude! Will cancel your reservation without your consent. My flight was canceled the day before my scheduled stay. Since my reservation was non refundable, I contacted IHG and was told the hotel would need to approve any refund. I immediately called the hotel and spoke with the manager, Felicia. I explained that I was asking about my options, not asking to cancel. While I was still on the call, she canceled my reservation without my permission and told me multiple times that she would process a refund because of the situation. I called several times that same day and was reassured each time that the refund was being handled. When I called again the next day, I was told there were notes in the system confirming that the manager canceled the reservation and agreed to issue a refund, and that I should allow a few days. More than a week passed with no refund. When I called again almost two weeks later, I spoke with another manager, Ryan. He was very rude and dismissive, cut me off while I was speaking, and refused to honor the refund. I told him Felicia shouldn’t have cancelled without my authorization, I could have found a way to make it since it was still a full day before, I could have driven. He said since my flight was cancelled why would I drive. Only after speaking with Ryan did I finally receive a receipt, almost two weeks later, and it listed the charge as a late cancellation. This was extremely frustrating since I never authorized the cancellation and had been told repeatedly that a refund was being processed. When I asked for call records or notes from my conversation with Felicia, that request was dismissed. If I had been told upfront that I would not receive a refund, I would have found a way to still use the reservation. Instead, the booking was canceled without my approval, leaving me no chance to make that decision myself and causing a loss that could have been avoided. IHG support confirmed that refund decisions are up to hotel management. In this case, the handling of this situation was inconsistent and very unprofessional.
